Welcome to the Martinshof! Our 170-year-old, modernly renovated country house is part of the picturesque round village of Helle in the middle of the Prignitz.
Our guests appreciate the heavenly peace and seclusion in harmony with nature: they enjoy strolling through meadows and fields, taking long walks in the woods or exploring the vastness of the sparsely populated Prignitz by bike. You can watch storks and stars or paddle or swim in the nearby river Stepenitz.
The accommodation
Our lovingly furnished 90 m2 3-room apartment with high-quality furnishings has a new kitchen and a modern bathroom with underfloor heating. It offers sleeping accommodations for up to six people. In addition, a baby travel cot is available.
The bedroom is equipped with an open fireplace and a double bed (box spring) for restful sleep in village tranquility.
The living and dining room can be additionally heated for cozy evenings with a tiled stove from the Wilhelminian period and has flat screen TV and a comfortable sofa bed.
Another room has a box spring sofa bed as well as a cozy reading corner with wing chair and offers a wonderful view of the garden and the wide fields behind it.
In summer, life shifts outside. The sun terrace invites you to read or to spend time together with food and good conversation. A grill is available.
The 4000 m2 large natural property offers not only children space to romp around, discover or play ball. Many a mild summer evening ends with a campfire and stick bread.
Further equipment includes 4 roadworthy bicycles, self-made soccer goals, a small sandbox and a large trampoline.
Sustainability is very important to us when it comes to water. For the irrigation of the garden and the garden shower on hot days we use our own well. Our completely odorless, on-farm biopurification plant cleans the wastewater and returns it to the natural water cycle.
Who are we?
For several centuries the farm has been owned by our family. Scattered in many parts of Germany, we enjoy it as a vacation home with its seclusion and tranquility. The whole family, from grandparents to grandchildren, appreciate the abundance of space and surrounding nature for resting, running around and exploring.
With the development of our charming country house into a vacation apartment, we have entered new territory and now make this place, which is so wonderful for us, available to others. As a multigenerational project, we have renovated the apartment with much love and enthusiasm in several work assignments, partly with the participation of the whole family. Our goal was to combine the charm of the old building with modern elements and high-quality furnishings. The necessary expert help we got exclusively from craftsmen from the region. In this way, a modern guest apartment was created, while we continue to use the smaller part of the country house ourselves from time to time.
