Summary: The location was very good, but sadly the guest house was very disappointing. From the outset the booking procedure was less than satisfactory. I spent unnecessary time trying to get a resolution from hotels.com and the guest house over the validity of my debit card. Prior to my arrival there was a further issue about a potential $20 surcharge for late check in. Fortunately, I arrived on time to be informed I needed to take my shoes off and asked to wear archaic flip flops, followed by the need to fill out various paperwork including agreeing to various house rules such as no alcohol in the room. When I get to the room, the facilities are so basic there is no tv, and no windows. A bit like a dungeon. Not a great welcome for charging nearly £130 a night, because there is a World Cup game on. Would have been nice if inflated prices are being charged, to show a bit of respect to your guests, and ensure better facilities are provided. Just so predictable at the end the young girl on reception, who was just doing her job, gave the room a thorough inspection before letting me leave. Amusing a sign there "perfect is boring" is on display. Perhaps the phrase "Don't let perfection be the enemy of good" should also be displayed. Sadly, this placei s not good. The carpet in the foyer is stained and ancient that is littered with old tvs, and the room itself is still in 20th century, and gives the impression the ownership don't care.
