Positive: Great location. Great apartment. Classy furnishings. Fun pool table. Great experience for all! The location is very accessible to the L and the optional parking - while not inexpensive, is conveniently located right behind the building. The property manager was also very responsive.
Negative: I booked at the last minute, so this was probably on me. But you must pay the damage deposit separately and the PM does not provide the lockbox code until they confirm the deposit has been made. This is a reasonable expectation. Unfortunately for me, the Booking.com confirmation included a 4-digit "pin" that doesn't provide access to anything physically as far as I can tell. In my rush to pack and get the fam going, I missed the confirmation instructions, assumed we had access to the unit because of the pin, and ended up fiddling with the lockbox in the cold for 30 minutes after our arrival. Thankfully, the PM was responsive after business hours. My advice, read through your confirmation instructions thoroughly and expect to pay a separate deposit before arriving.
Summary: Great apartment in a great location = a great Chicago experience!
