Positive: Fabulous location. Well worth a holiday in this area. Beautiful scenery and very friendly people, especially in the nearby shops etc. Would highly recommend a visit to Clachan Inn, Drymen for a meal (booking essential!)

Negative: While the location of this house is peaceful the building itself is not. Every floor, door and handle in the house make a ridiculous noise. If one person is up, everyone in the house will be awake. This is NOT an exaggeration. I'm an early riser but genuinely could not get up at the time I would have liked as I was so conscious of not waking everyone else in the house. Of course, you would expect a building of this type to have an occasional squeaky floorboard but this was another level altogether. Expect to wrestle the fridge door to get it to close and the smell of oil from the understair cupboard was at times quite overwhelming. Be prepared to have to bring all essentials with you; not all bathrooms had hand soap and we didn't even get a full roll of toilet paper. There was no dish cloth for the kitchen and nothing to clean the bathrooms with either. While there is an ironing board provided, it is not padded and you will be left with a lattice pattern in your clothing. The television wasn't working but once this was reported it was replaced very quickly. Unfortunately the replacement had a fault on the screen. The kitchen is very well equipped compared to some places we've stayed in. The rooms are all very spacious.

Summary: Beautiful location but the noise the house itself creates lets this down.
