Positive: - Dude running the place was casual and friendly - Real tatami in the room! Smelled nice - Spacious room - Right next to a great super sento and outlet mall, and crucially, the sea (very pretty) - Balcony was lovely to have, faced a flower bush in bloom - You have use of as many blankets and pillows as you like from the cupboard

Negative: - The shower room is a cursed worst-of-both-worlds chimera that has neither the privacy of Western showers nor the comfort of a Japanese bath - Would have been nice to be able to check in at a wider range of times - that day there was nobody at the desk before 5, so I couldn't leave my luggage before check-in time - My room was opposite the shower rooms and I could hear straight into it in the morning - I thought it was an ice machine before I had woken up properly (it was generally quite noisy outside too) - This was advertised, but I'm used to the front desk being staffed more often so it was odd for it to be empty most of the time I was there
