Positive: I had booked Hilton Candolim for 2 nights (all prepaid) but checked out a night early as the property wasn't to my liking. No doubt the property is majestic and built like a fort—literally constructed in Mughal palace architecture—and I'm pretty sure it took years of hard work to build such a huge, impressive property. The property was clean, well-maintained, and the staff was courteous. So why did I check out early, you ask? The reason is the vibe of the place. The property is built on a hilltop, which means you cannot just walk out and explore the nearby markets and areas. I'm more of a person who loves exploring on foot rather than driving around. To reach the main road, you have to descend and ascend a very steep path that can only realistically be done by car. Of course, you can do it on foot as well, but not when you're traveling with family and kids. If you're someone who loves spending time at the property, lazying around by the pool and clicking photos in a premium setting, then you might find this place perfect. But I found it to be a bit isolated and cut off. Otherwise, the rooms were well-maintained and the property decor was impeccable. I didn't appreciate the room service, as it was slow, and the lift wasn't working in our building for most of our stay. The food was Okayish but not good. I would stress that this is in no way a bad property, but it wasn't the vibe we were expecting from a place to stay in Goa. If you're traveling with a large group or family who plan to stay on-property most of the time, it might be a good fit for you. But if you're a solo traveler or someone who would spend more time exploring the streets than at the property, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Negative: I didn't appreciate the room service, as it was slow, and the lift wasn't working in our building for most of our stay. The food was Okayish but not good. The bed was bit too much springy and uncomfortable.
