Positive: We are on a trip staying at some of the world's best hotels and this gem stands proudly up there with them. The panoramic view from our suite was breathtaking. The location - just a five minute walk into wonderful and unspoilt Rapallo, was perfect. The indoor pool, spa and outdoor pool all amazing. Breakfast was also superb. The staff were all friendly and efficient. The hotel is grand and traditional in style but is quietly modern in function. We had a full sized harp in our room and there was even a room service menu for dogs and cats! Our plan had been to stay in Portofino but we rolled the dice on the Excelsior Palace and Rapallo and are so glad we did. It is unique, characterful and charming.
