Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located home. Benedictine College, restaurants, groceries, bars, and downtown shopping are all about 12 blocks away! There is parking in front of the house (carport and off-street parking). You have WiFi and a washer and dryer. There is one queen bed, one full bed, and two futons available to sleep on, making room for 7 people! The futon in the back bedroom could fit two smaller children, which could then fit 8 people.
The back bedroom/master bedroom has a queen bed, a futon, a closet to hang clothes, and a bookshelf with a couple baskets and a mirror. There is a steamer, iron, and ironing board in this closet as well as a vacuum. The side table also has USB ports in it to charge any devices.
The second bedroom is a full size bed with an armoire to hang clothes.
The family room has a desk and futon. There is no tv as of right now. But we do have WiFi so you could watch tv on your phone apps.
There is a small stackable washer and dryer that you can do laundry in.
There are cleaning supplies if needed in the laundry room and under the kitchen and bathroom sinks.
The dining room has a four person table. There is an extra table and a comfy chair and lamp also in the dining room. The shelving unit in the dining room contains adult and children books, board games, and cards.
This house was built in 1925 so itโs an older home.
All areas are open for guests in the house. Just not the small enclosed back entrance (unless an emergency) and the basement.

There are stairs up to the house. They are old and made of concrete. Since the ground shifts, so have the stairs, but they are very much usable and sturdy. There is a railing along the side of them. Once inside of the house, there are no stairs.
The neighborhood is in the middle of town, but not too close to downtown so itโs not too loud. It is a family neighborhood with children and dogs. All of the neighbors are kind people. It is on a brick street, which is one of Atchisonโs unique features.
Parking is pretty open and youโll always find a spot. You do have a concrete carport to park in and then along the street, but itโs never full. You could potentially walk to the restaurants, bars, and groceries, but Atchison is pretty hilly so expect to climb no matter which direction you walk. Driving is probably your best option. We do not have a taxi or bus option here. We sometimes have an Uber available, but not all of the time.
