This channel-front home is a place for people who want to enjoy the fast pace of the lake, and the relaxation of a shaded backyard on the channel. It truly is the best of all worlds.

The home comes with two docks, so you can tie up your boat or jet ski during your stay. Witmer Lake has a public access boat launch, so you can dump your boat in the water, and be at the house within 10 minutes.
The home has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom has bunkbed. The top bed is a twin and the bottom bed is a full. There is also room on the floor for a cot, sleeping bag or blowup mattress.
The home has all new Whirlpool appliances. Appliances include: refrigerator, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, blender.
There is a television (see below disclaimer about internet) with a DVD player, a VCR (yes, really), as well as a PlayStation 2, including many games and movies. We also have a number of board games and playing cards.
The home is located a few miles from Wolcottville, and about 10 miles from LaGrange (Ind.), the county seat. Wolcottville has a gas station with pizza and food options. The closest fast food options are in LaGrange.
This is an all-season home, which means it is a great place to stay for Notre Dame football weekends. The home is 60 miles from Notre Dame Stadium, and a great place to stop for the night on your way home from the game.
As with any lake home, parking is limited. There are three (3) parking spots available - that includes any space you'll need for a trailer for your boat/jet ski. No other parking is available.
The home is an ideal place to stay for a family that brings its own boat, kayak, canoe or other water sport activity. We are located on the channel, so you will not want to swim right off of the property. You will need a way to access the lake if you want to enjoy the water.
As you can see in the photos, the back yard has many shade trees with all-day shade. You can sit on the new deck and enjoy complete relaxation and watch the time go by. We have a nice pier system that provides great fishing for hours.
Witmer Lake is a speedboat lake for all sports. It is part of the five-lake Indian Lakes chain that includes Dallas Lake, as well as three lakes that are idle-only. We are also in the heart of Amish Country. You are only a 20-minute drive to Shipshewana where you can enjoy great Amish cooking, and plenty of Amish culture at places like the Blue Gate Theatre.
Pets welcome (no more than 2 without owner approval). Pets are REQUIRED to be on a leash when outdoors.
We ask that prior to departure all dishes be cleaned and trash be taken out.
ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY.
IMPORTANT - Things the home does NOT have.
This is a lake home; a weekend retreat. We do not have internet service. No Wi-Fi, no internet. There is no cable, nor local television service. There is a TV with movies (as mentioned above), but no streaming services, as there is no internet. And, Verizon mobile customers have virtually no service. This is not an exaggeration. Verizon customers have to walk outside of the home to get even 1 bar of service. You can get calls, but no internet. AT&T Mobile customers can get some service.
The home has no central air conditioning. It can get warm in the summer, so the home has a window air conditioner in each of the two bedrooms. These window units keep the bedrooms nice and cool in the evenings.
The home has no washer and dryer currently, although one has been ordered and should be installed by summer of 2023.
