Description of the apartment:

Ottolini Palace is a typical medieval building, built as a "tower house". The apartment is on the third floor of the historic building of the second half of the fourteenth century. It is located in the center of the city, including the Tower of the hours and the Guinigi Tower, in a quiet area with little traffic.
The apartment has the typical Lucchesi floors with colorful hexagons and ancient terracotta, old decorations and more in tune with the era of the house.
The apartment is on the third floor and is accessed by the old stairs. It consists of a large living-dining room with adjoining open kitchen (toaster, dishwasher, gas hob, oven, kettle, etc.), a bedroom with double bed with dresser; a bedroom with double bed, walk-in closet and private bath; a bedroom with two single beds and wardrobe.
The apartment is bright and airy, with views of the Tower of hours.
In all rooms there is air conditioning and heating, and you'll manage the temperature according to your needs, so it is the only additional cost that I require you, calculated according to consumption at the end of your stay.
Both bathrooms are in perfect condition and have a shower.
As you can read in the reviews, the apartment is on the third floor and there are several stairs to do, I can tell you, I do I do them several times a day and I feel that I do well.
If you arrive by car, parking is located about 900 meters outside the city walls, and if I can I can come and take my car to help you transfer your luggage.
The main street with shops, restaurants, ice cream shops and local produce is just around the corner.
Under the house there is an excellent restaurant and opposite a typical small bar with wine and small plates, a few steps a small supermarket.
In the pictures you can see an open room with table and chairs, it is a terrace but a landing of the stairs where you can relax drinking or smoking.

Summary: We absolutely loved our stay in this apartment. It was a comfortable and spotlessly clean apartment in the heart of Lucca. The apartment is set in an historic building and it was spacious, elegant and beautifully equipped. There were six of us, all adults, and we felt comfortable and not at all crowded. We chose it to spend Christmas there and we could not have found a better place. The kitchen had everything we needed to be able to cook a four-course meal and, if we needed something (e.g. an extra tray or pot) our wonderful host was happy to provide it for us. The bedrooms were large and the beds very comfortable. The hot water was an instantaneous system so it never ran out and the place was well heated. There are air conditioners but, being the middle of winter, we did not need them. We loved our stay here. Although on the third floor (71 steps), it’s a wide staircase and manageable. The most difficult part was getting the suitcases up on our arrival and down on our departure, but Francesco and Matteo helped us with these, making a huge difference and solving our dilemma. Our host and his family were kind and attentive and there for us, when we needed them, but highly respectful of our privacy and space. We fell in love with Lucca and Francesco’s apartment will definitely be our place of choice, when we return. Thank you Francesco and Matteo for your excellent hospitality.
