Our Condo is the most perfect place. Your home away from home is in a small, quiet and friendly Keauhou Akahi Condominium Complex on the Kona coast in the Keauhou Resort area of the Big Island of Hawaii. It is resort living at its finest. With views over beautiful Keauhou Bay and the blue ocean, surrounded by wonderfully lush tropical greenery, the lovely aroma of fragrant tropical blossoms, filled with exotic birdsong, magical sunsets from the lanai and last but not least, the Kona Country Club with stately coconut palm trees – that is what our Condo has to offer. The 9th tee of the golf course is right in front of the lanai.
Our Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 beautifully remodeled baths and a large covered lanai. It is perfect for enjoying your vacation to the max. The condo is furnished in a very comfortable contemporary style and located on the second floor of a three-story building with parking conveniently in front. All rooms have floor-to-ceiling louvered windows to allow the wonderfully silky ocean and mountain breezes to surround you. Additionally, all rooms have remotely controllable ceiling fans, including the lanai, for extra comfort.
The Master bedroom offers a king size bed with a new mattress The second bedroom has a nice closet and a queen size bed with newer mattress.
A walk in shower is located of the master bedroom with very nice tiles, glass bricks and Grohe rain shower head. The second bath is very tasteful remodeled with neutral tiles and walk in large shower with glass enclosure.
The kitchen is fully equipped, including high-end appliances and Quartz counter tops. A Bosch washer/dryer is conveniently located in a hall utility closet, 5 steps from the kitchen. A Weber gas grill on the lanai compliments the kitchen for outdoor living.
There are 2 Cable-TV's, high-speed wireless internet, NETFLIX AND SHOWTIME, and telephone with answer machine for “no-charge” calls to USA and Canada.
A very inviting saline swimming pool is located next to the building for your enjoyment.
The Keauhou Akahi complex is conveniently located within the Keauhou Resort area, about 5 miles south of Kailua-Kona village and about 1/3 mile from and 100 ft. above Keauhou Bay, with only the beautifully greens of the Kona Country Club separating you from the blue Pacific.
The Keauhou Shopping Center, a full service shopping with a KTA Supermarket, Long's Drugstore, restaurants, movie theaters and a Post Office; is located less than a mile away. The Center also offers activities like Hawaiian music, dance, arts and crafts almost daily, including a Farmers Market for the freshest produce on Saturdays.
Keauhou Bay is an very important place in Hawaii history, it is the location were the Hawaiian King Kamehameha III was born, lived, ruled and relaxed with other Hawaiian noble men, the Ali'i's. The Keauhou Bay area is also a place for golfers, fishermen and water sports enthusiasts and adventure seekers, like kayaking, paddling, snorkeling and diving with giant manta rays and sailing into magical sunsets. The Bay is home to the Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa and to the Keauhou Canoe Club, which welcomes visiting guests on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays to learn and practices the ancient Hawaiian way of paddling outrigger canoes.
The Kahalu'u Beach Park is a snorkeler’s paradise. With reef-protected crystal-clear water, colorful tropical coral fish and sea turtles – the best snorkeling on the island is about a mile north towards Kailua Village.
A little further is La'aloa or White Sands Beach, with wonderfully fine white sand.
More things to do: A few miles south of the Condo is Kealakekua Bay with its Captain Cook Monument located on the north shore of the Bay. A little further south is Pu'uhonua o Honaunau, the “Place of Refuge”, a National Historic Park with carved tikis and a wonderful picnic area.
Further south, through coffee and macadamia nut plantations; is Southpoint, is the most southern point of the USA.
Volcanoes National Park, about 90 miles from the Condo on the southeastern coast of the island with its active Kilauea volcano.
Laid-back Hilo, the largest town on the island is located on the eastern shore of Hawaii Island. It is surrounded by tropical rain forest and well known for its waterfalls, warm volcanically-heated natural pools and botanically gardens.
The Condo, your home away from home, is the center of many activities. It is also very safe since it is located on the second floor, allowing you to sleep with your windows and lanai doors open. You can swim with dolphins, go para-sailing, jet-skiing, fishing, boating, horseback riding, four wheeling, cycling, zip-lining and go on helicopter tours. You can observe whales, dolphins and turtles in the ocean and wild goats, pigs, cats, pea fowl, turkeys, chickens and a few other exotic animals on land.
