La Merise is a beautifully converted two bedroomed barn sleeping 4 - 6, with one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, and a sofa bed in the living room. It has a fully-equipped kitchen, sitting room and dining area, and shower room with walk-in Italian satellite TV via Canal Plus or English language programmes on Freesat. There is a washing machine and linen, towels and a welcome pack are provided, as well as cot and high chair if required. Situated in the quiet countryside but within walking distance of Villefranche d'Albigeois with all amenities including a small supermarket, boucherie, boulangerie and bars/restaurants. The beautiful Tarn valley is 10 minutes drive away, and the magical city of Albi, a UNESCO heritage site, is 20 minutes away. Castres, Cordes sur Ciel and Gaillac are all close by and Toulouse airport is just over an hour's drive. There are some beautiful marked walks to explore the stunning countryside. Visit the local markets, sample the local wines at the vineyards in Gaillac, explore Albi and the nearby towns, or just relax and soak up the sun around the pool.
We live in the house next to the gite. We do not use the pool when we have guests in the gite. There is a comprehensive information pack and we will do our best to answer any questions or suggestions on places to visit. We will be happy to do this over an apero!
The gite is very private and is not overlooked. Guests have the entire upper garden to themselves, and this area includes the pool. The pool is heated from May to October.
There are no hidden charges. There is no charge for cleaning, heating, bedding and no deposit is required.
We are full time residents in France and will usually be here to greet you, and on hand during your stay for any help or information you need.
When we bought the property, the gite was already converted, but we added the pool and made improvements to the main house.
We have two enthusiastic Labradors and a cat. The dogs have access to the garden and usually make friends with our guests.
