Hut Pointe | House in Governor's Harbour, Bahamas
The Main House at Hut Pointe is a clean and spacious 1200 plus square foot home with 2-bedrooms and 1 and a half bathrooms. The entire space is air conditioned with central a/c and features a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, gas stove and oven, pots/pans, dishes, utensils and a coffee maker. The island countertop has two comfortable bar chairs and leads to a dining table with four chairs. The main room layout including living, dining and kitchen is an open space floorplan with an open ceiling up to fifteen feet. The house is clean, comfortable and has sea views of the beautiful Caribbean side of Eleuthera. At the rear of the house is a large patio, comfortable for entertaining or just enjoying the beautiful sunsets.
The living room is spacious including two couches, a comfortable sofa chairs and a flat screen T.V. with satellite T.V. and a wifi.
The primary bedroom has king-size bed, closet with an in-room safe, armoire and a balcony door leading to a small sitting porch. The second bedroom has two twin-size beds and a small closet and an in unit washer/dryer.
Some of the eco-friendly additions during the renovation included new shower heads and toilets, solar water heating, solar electric with battery backup, rainwater harvesting for all of our water use, low VOC paint, CFL and solar lighting, new energy-saving refrigerators, gas grill and an organic garden. The family owned, eco-friendly, all suite property is a short walk to one of the islands best snorkeling sites and no beach is far away as the island is less than half a mile wide in the central part of the island.
Nearby Governors Harbour, a historic settlement including Cupids Cay, has grocery stores, gas station, shops and popular restaurants including Tippy’s on the beach, 1648 at French Leave, Buccaneer Club, Bacchus fine wines and more. Every settlement has its charm and restaurants from the quaint road side conch stand to the sophisticated restaurants like 1648 and The Landing on Harbour Island, another historic property dating back to 1800.
The island of Eleuthera is one of the longest islands in the Bahamas and also one of the narrowest which makes beach and ocean access available up and down the length of the island. Eleuthera means Freedom and from top to bottom exploring the islands many beaches, settlements, coves, caves, blue holes and enjoying the friendly island people is the best part of any Eleuthera experience. A day trip to Harbour Island or Spanish Wells, reading on a deserted beach, visiting the beautiful churches or Fish Fry, there is more than enough to do in a week on the beautiful island of Eleuthera. Fishing, scuba, boat rentals, swimming pigs, snorkeling, bike riding, surfing and exploring the many hidden dirt roads are available throughout the island
While Eleuthera is most famous for its 100 miles of spectacular beaches, the island is also home to only 8000 residents so it is safe, clean and spacious so you can hang out in the friendly settlements and listen to colorful island stories or hide away on one of the many deserted beaches.
